About

Hi and Welcome!

My name is Chava Eichner – food lover, writer and photographer of Flavourphotos Food Photography.

Choosing a vegan diet is undoubtedly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life! With my recipes and food photographs I want to share veganism as a vibrant and colourful celebration of life, compassion and really delicious food!

About 11 years ago I started my business as a vegan/vegetarian food photographer. I’ve set my heart on creating photographs that are so fabulous and stunning that you just can’t help wanting to take a bite straight away!

I feel truly privileged to work with wonderful, passionate, warm-hearted people and I really hope my photos and recipes can show just how much I love what I do! Let’s celebrate together all that makes being vegan so amazing – for the animals, our health and the planet.

A BIT ABOUT ME:

Skills?  Cookery writer, food stylist and self-employed photographer since 2001.

Lightbulb moment? With my partner David over a steaming mug of chai in Jaipur, India: “Could I combine my two great passions of cruelty-free food and photography into a career where I could actually make a difference?”  Yes, I can!

Clients? I work with great people who really make this job worthwhile. My client base is varied but everybody has one goal at heart – a healthy vegan/vegetarian lifestyle for animal welfare, our health and the planet.Clients

Favourite kitchen item? My Rußwurm Sauté Pan

Love of my life? David who has happily put up with even my most experimental cooking for over 18 years.
My two boys Sam and Alex
Family

Hobbies? Dancing, Modern Jive is my thing and really makes me bouncing-up-and-down kind of happy.

  1. I am so flattered and honored by your compliments on my photography, even more so knowing now that it came from a seasoned pro photographer. Your work looks spectacular and what a phenomenal job you have – combining the love for vegan food and photography. How brilliant! 😀

    • Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it’s very much appreciated. I am so happy to do something I really love and knowing that I can make a difference. Both my boys are in school now and I’m able to put much more energy and time into my work again – it’s great fun 🙂

  2. Chava, Your site looks fabulous. This is a great blog! Warmly, Shanna

  3. I’m curious about this magazine editor (Cook Vegetarian) in the UK whom you write for and she’s called Fae too!

    Hi Chava,
Fae is a rare name and everyone tend to spell it Faye.
Is your name pronounced with ‘ch’ or ‘sh’ ?
You have started a beautiful blog. I admire vegans and trying to learn from. I cannot leave my meats, but I like to incorporate vegan dishes in my life and be able to cook substantial meals for my vegan friends. Welcome to WP Family and hope to interact more with you. 😀 Fae.

    • I just love the fact that vegan food has become ‘mainstream’ now. I feel so passionately about making vegan meals delicious and utterly beautiful at the same time. Hopefully, my blog will give you lots of new ideas and inspiration.
My name is Hebrew (means Eva), but I grew up in Germany and now live in the UK. I’ve heard some interesting pronunciations over the years! 😉
It’s Ch like the Spanish j – (at the back of the throat) like Rioja.

  4. Hi, Chava,

  5. I love your blog, especially your photos. I studied photography in college but I’m now finding that food photography is a unique animal- standard photography rules do not apply. Photos like yours are highly inspirational, I love your warm but natural lighting.

  7. 2 passions that come together perfectly for blogging! I’m excited to see what you’ve got coming next- I’m always looking for more ideas for meatless meals (I’m not vegan, but I do try to limit meat consumption).
